EU Political Barometer
EU Political Barometer is an interactive web application to visualize the political state of European countries using data from the profiles of political parties in social networks. We collect information about more than 200 political parties, with the intention to determinate ideology and polarization metrics.
We provide information about the 27 European Countries and the United Kingdom.

Political scales, Ideology and Polarization
Parties are classified in different political scales, being the left-right scale the most relevant in this site. This data is retrieved from the ParlGov database. Ideology and polarization of countries across the European Union and the United Kingdom are computed with prediction models.
In the following link, we explain that scale, and what is the ideology and polarization with an interactive example.

Explore Trends
We extracted the text of every publication, to study the most used terms by every political party. With that information we built a dashboard, that measures the relevance of more than 8,000 terms in the context of the European Union.
Every country and party page have their own Word Cloud of their most used terms
This dashboard provides possibilities to easily compare different time periods, trends and countries/parties.
Newspapers
The embedded URL(s) of the post are collected, then we resolve the links (because some parties use shortened URLs), and classify the websites of newspapers sites, with at least 30 posts. For every News media we get the ideology perception of that media by the number of uses of the parties.
